Construction and development of gloves
How a new glove is made? What is the latest technological development in connection with gloves? How is size defined? What is my size?
In our company development and construction of gloves is always done with CAD(Computer Aided Design) software . This is computer aided design best known mainly in machinery and construction industry. CAD that we use was designed and created to enable to follow anatomic principles of human body and certain fundamentals of human hand in glove design.
Now development of a new style is much
1) faster – as soon as the basic size is ready to derive other sizes is a matter of one click only.
2) more precise – if the computer task is well defined, the result is 100% precise, therefore it is easy to check length of sewing lines and net consumption of material.
3) more reliable – possibility of making a mistake in creation of stencils is eliminated and the process of lengthy, laborious and repeated sharpening and adjusting of size stencils is not needed any more.
4) more variable – we have a fast tool to prepare non standard styles, unusual requests, very small or large gloves.
Even with this advanced technology computer often cannot get ahead of nature. Although we try to match all human hands with scale from 6 to 12, it often does not work or even cannot work. In the picture there are outlines of hands which are not identical but they belong to the same size. Therefore we can see that one glove cannot fit perfectly all criteria connected with human hand.
However, if you want to know which size your hand belongs to, follow these instructions, please: measure perimeter of your hand with a piece of string or an inch-tape (right-handed people their right hand and left-handed people their left hand) over your joints. Human hand is the widest in the area of finger joints and splint bones. Your hand must be closed so that the end of your index finger can touch slightly your thumb tip. This length in centimetres is the size of your hand and you can find out the needed size of your glove with the following table.
