Why did we try to make a new type of wristband? What advantages does the new wristband have? Why is it called “Compact wristband”?

Nowadays almost all European producers offer fire-fighting gloves  with two types of wristbands. The first type is short Kevlar knit wristband worn under the coat. The second type is long wristband worn on the coat. Fire-fighters in Germany, Austria or Switzerland prefer long wristbands while fire-fighters in England, Ireland, Belgium or Sweden prefer knit wristband.

We saw certain weaknesses in both types of wristband so we looked for solution that would offer improvements of troubles. So what does the new Compact wristband bring?

1) Easier and more comfortable putting on: as the wristband is not from knit material it is much better to be put on, it can be drawn more easily to put it on  and it is not pulled at one side. It is not necessary to put the wristband in careful and lengthy way on the knit wristband of the coat.
2) The membrane finishes at the end of the wristband; the membrane cannot be put into knit wristband. Even though this part of glove is under the tactical coat with membrane, longer membrane in the glove is advantage.
3) Excellent compatibility with the sleeve of tactical coat: the wristband fits perfectly between the knit wristband of the tactical coat and the coat upper part. The place where the glove is connected with the coat sleeve is very sensitive for protection of a fire-fighter. With this wristband the situation when the knit wristband is pulled to one side and there is narrow strip of unprotected skin between the glove and the coat cannot happen.
